AWR Control Room View 2STUDIO

Abbey West Recording uses a mixture of analog and digital gear to achieve a fresh new sound with an old school feel – the best of both worlds. The heart of our studio is the ProTools HD system. The HDX DSP Acceleration card, which runs the system, is the best interface ProTools has to offer.

ProTools has become the standard in most studios around the world. We use this system because of its outstanding sonic presence, unlimited features, quick navigation and compatibility with other studios. The ability to record a session in one studio, save it to a thumb drive, then load it into another studio’s computer and see your entire session pop up exactly where you left off, is invaluable. In addition, we use internet options like Gobbler and WeTransfer to send session files to other studios, anywhere in the world.

Also featured at Abbey West Recording are Avalon, API, Focusrite, Heritage Audio  and Universal Audio preamps, which bring warmth and character to the tracking process, rounding out the sound for a perfect marriage in the digital/analog realm. Other gear, like the “Dangerous Music ST” monitor control station, adds unrivaled Hi-Fi clarity to the overall sound. Check out the Gear list below to see what else Abbey West Recording uses for its arsenal of sound.
